On November 25th, we gather writers from around the world for a 24-hour reading in support of Palestinian writers, Palestinian voices in diaspora, and their allies. We gather in the spirit of fundamental respect for life and liberation. As individual poets, artists & writers, and representatives of independent arts organizations, we call for an end to all ongoing genocidal aggression globally. We condemn the collective punishment of Palestinians, we condemn actions that perpetuate cycles of violence, and we call for a global commitment to protect freedom of expression and critical dissent.
The reading will begin at 3:00 PM EEST Palestinian time (5:00 AM PST).
Small Press Traffic and Tripwire are co-presenting the 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM PST time slot, with readings by Stevie Redwood, Zêdan Xelef, Wendy Trevino, Ari Banias, Lara Mimosa Montes, Sophia Dahlin, Mei Wa Lo, Scout Faller, Anahid Nersessian, Amitai Ben-Abba, and Tongo Eisen-Martin.
The Poetry Center will host from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM PST, and feature readings by Deema K. Shehabi, Nathalie Khankan, Priscilla Wathington, and Zeina Hashem Beck.
